Mark 11:22, 24

In reply Jesus said to the disciples, “If you only have faith in God—this is the absolute truth—you can say to this Mount of Olives, ‘Rise up and fall into the Mediterranean,’ and your command will be obeyed. All that’s required is that you really believe and have no doubt! Listen to me! You can pray for anything, and if you believe, you have it; it’s yours!”

mountainWe all have mountains that we have to climb. The old gospel singer said, “I’m climbing higher mountains trying to get home!” There are many gospel songs that use the analogy of mountains to describe adversity in our lives. One writer sang, “don’t move my mountain just give me the strength to climb!”

That sounds good but Jesus told us that if we had faith we could speak to our mountains and tell them to move!

There is something insurmountable in your life that you feel like will never move. This mountain that is in front of you looks unscalable but in actuality its your faith that’s needed. As the songwriter sang, “ain’t no mountain high enough to keep you from me!” If we have faith enough we can tell this mountain to move!

What’s your mountain? Maybe it’s a vision to transform your community. Maybe it’s a dream to end poverty in your city. Perhaps it’s the hope that you will wipe out your debt and end your slavery to your lender. Whatever it is, you have the power to move your mountain.

1. If you have faith the size of a mustard seed. The incredible thing about a mustard seed is that it’s the smallest seed but grows into the biggest plant. The more you nurture your faith the more it grows. Big things can grow out of a little faith in God.

2. If you believe and not doubt. Doubt is like water in the gas tank of your faith. You’re not going to get very far with it. You have to believe with unshakeable certainty that God is going to do what he said he was going to do.
No matter what it looks like, you have to trust and not doubt!

3. If you pray with faith God will give you whatever you ask for! Wow! That’s exciting and scary at the same time. You really need to think about what you’re praying for. God wants to bless you so don’t waste prayers on molehills when God wants to move mountains!

Dear God,

Help me to have mountain moving faith! I believe this year some big things are going to be moved on my behalf because I trusted you in the face of the difficult. Thank you for bringing the vision to past and for moving my mountain.

In Jesus Name,
