“Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.”
Psalm 126:5-6 NIV
What a year! This has been one of the most rocky yet productive years of my life. It’s my first year of ministry that I didn’t take a sabbatical. There was some ploughing and planting that needed to take place. The work has been done, now it’s time for the harvest.
For a lot of people this year has been bumpy, to say the least. It seems like our country has been hijacked and somebody switched the price tags on what we valued for that of no value. There hasn’t been much to celebrate – even the world champion Warriors didn’t go to the Whitehouse to celebrate their victory. It’s been that kind of year. But in spite of it all some seeds have been planted.
- Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. God never wastes tears. I love the scene in the movie “The Shack” where the Holy Spirit takes the bottled up tears of Mack from all the nights he cried over his daughter’s murder and used them to grow a tree in the garden. This is the season where God is about to transform your tears into something joyful. For every tear you cried get ready for something to blossom in its place. Weeping may endure for the night but joy is coming in the morning!
- Those who go out weeping with seed to sow…in this life we will have trials and tribulations. We will have to cry sometimes. But as we go out weeping we need some seed in our hand. We have to keep sowing so we can keep growing. Weeping shouldn’t stop our sowing. Our ancestors knew that if they didn’t put that seed in the ground they wouldn’t make it through the winter. They were persecuted through racism, challenged economically, impacted by natural disasters but they kept sowing their seed. When it rains (adversity) I get excited because that means my seed (what I sowed) is going to eventually come up!
- We will return with songs of joy carrying sheaves with us. No more sad songs!! God is turning the tide. All things work for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose. God is going to bless us with such an amazing harvest that we will forget what we were crying about! God’s about ready to bless us with a bundle of what we need.
What you sowed in your crying years is about to manifest in your coming year. It’s been tough but there’s a shifting and a sifting. You had to go through it to get to it!
The enemy came up against your home
The enemy came up against your children
The enemy came up against your name
The enemy came up against your character
You will win, win
You will win, win
It’s your winning season! Everything attached to you wins!—Jekalyn Carr
Help my my brother and sister to know that they are about to walk into their winning season. It’s been rough! They almost felt liking giving up but instead they kept sowing their time, talent, and treasure. Now God, show yourself strong and bless them with a harvest. Bless them with a new job. Bless them with the transportation they need. Bless them with living wages. Bless them with the healing they need in their bodies. Bless them with living wages to provide for their families.
In Jesus’ Name!
