Your Work will be Tested.

1 Corinthians 3:13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work.

There’s a lot of speculation by people as to the intentions of people. Especially if you have made up your mind that you will attempt to construct anything of significance with your, life people will scrutinize your work. There is always someone looking from a distance wondering if you are legit or if you really are who you say you are. The best way to end all speculation is to let you work speak for you.

I don’t have time to convince people who don’t know me or love me. It’s the assignment of some people to spur you on towards good works by their bad commentary. As TI said in his song, “Motivation,”  “All your hating only inspires, I won’t stop going. I won’t get tired…it’s motivation!”

Our focus should not be on what people say rather the materials we use to build. Paul says that each man’s work will be revealed on the day of judgement. There will be a building inspection done by Jesus and he will inspect the work of our hands.

1.  Man looks on the outside but God inspects the heart. God is more concerned with why we build instead of what we build. God will look at our motivations. Only what we do for Christ will last.

2.  Jesus will look at the materials. The materials represent our values. Our values are reflected in our behavior. Who you are on the inside will show up on the outside.

3.  Your work will be tested by the fire. If we build something for the right reason it will stand through the fire of persecution and scrutiny. If we do it out of vanity the flames will consume it but you will make it through.

Be encouraged today to keep building. Don’t worry about what other people think or say. If you do what God told you to do, you will build and what you build will make it through the fire.

Dear God,

Help me to keep building and let my work speak for me. Give me the right materials to build and the resources to maintain it. Thank you for giving me sustainability and resilience. I’m ready for my work to speak for me and I thank you that my labor is not in vain!

In Jesus Name,
