Luke 2:25-26 “At that time there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon. He was righteous and devout and was eagerly waiting for the Messiah to come and rescue Israel. The Holy Spirit was upon him and had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen the Lord’s Messiah.”

We have just finished the season of advent. Advent is time that we await the coming of the Messiah, i.e. the birth of Jesus and the second coming of his return.

Christmas is over our and waiting has reached its peak. With the coming of a new year we are expecting something different. God is about ready to manifest what you’ve been waiting on.

Simeon was a priest in the Temple who was waiting on the Messiah to rescue Israel. God told him that he would not die until he seen the Messiah. He was waiting! Mary and Joseph bring in Jesus as a baby to be circumcised. Simeon sees the baby Jesus and rejoices that he got to see what he was waiting on.

Here’s some good news for you!

  1. You will not die before you see it! Be encouraged this year in the fact that you are still alive and God is about ready to reveal what you’ve been waiting on. You shall live and not die and proclaim the work of the Lords hand.
  2. What you have been waiting on is about to show up. The Holy Spirit will love you in the direction of your blessing. What you’ve been praying for is headed in your direction.
  3. What you’ve been praying for might appear small but it’s going to get bigger later. Jesus was a baby when Simeon saw him but he rejoiced for who Jesus would be later. Despise not small beginnings but praise him for the confirmation of what is to come.

Dear God,

Thank you for my blessing that I’ve been waiting a long time for. I almost gave up but then you showed up. I’m excited about this year because I’m about to get everything I’ve been waiting on!

In Jesus Name,

 Amen
