“…I know, somehow, that only when it is dark enough can you see the stars.” –Dr. MLK

So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.” 1 Peter 1:6 NLT

We are approaching Thanksgiving and the season of advent where we await the Joy of the coming Christ. We should be anticipating great joy but so many people are living with great fear.

People of faith must always be able to navigate the dark terrain of trials and tribulations in the valley on their way to the mountains of God’s glory.

So be truly glad…. about what?! That there will be Glory after this! God has something He’s trying to accomplish in his people and the tests we are about to go through are for our good even though it doesn’t feel good. It’s going to get worse before it gets better but we have to hold on!

  1. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. When Satan came accusing Job he told God, “the only reason he serves you is because you have a hedge of protection around him. Remove it and he will curse you.” God allowed Job to be tested to prove to Satan what he already knew and that was Job would be faithful unto death! What about you?
  2. Your faith will be tested just in the fire and come out as pure gold. These trials we are about to go through will purify the soul of America. This is the last desperate gasp of racism in America. We as the diverse American Christians must rise above this hateful entrenchment and stand together in love and show the people of the world that there is a more excellent way. Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and the life!
  3. When your faith remains strong through many trials the Glory of the coming Christ will follow. We will not hang our heads in defeat. Christ is coming! We will be filled with Joy on Christmas because there will be Glory after this! The devil is defeated. If we can just hold on to our faith through these difficult days we will see God take what the enemy meant for bad and turn it around for our good.

“We’ve got some difficult days ahead. But it really doesn’t matter with me now, because I’ve been to the mountaintop.”

Dear God

Give us the courage to face these dark and difficult days. For every dark place give us the ability to shine brighter. For every hateful person give us the ability to love harder. Every time we get tired give us the ability to take flight on eagles wings. Every time it looks like our resources are going to dry up open another revenue stream! God you are not finished with us. We will get through this! There will be Glory after this!

In Jesus Name,
