It’s inevitable that we will encounter trouble in this world but the question is why? Jesus said, “It rains on the just and the unjust,” but why? The answer to that question is either for one or two reasons. Either we have been disobedient or we are on the right track.
When we are disobedient to God and turn away from him in pursuit of other things, we find ourselves without God’s favor. Life seems like it is lived without a protective shield of God’s hand.
Then there are the trials and tribulations we go through because of our affiliations with Jesus. Jesus said, “If they hated me they will hate you also!”
So if I’m going to go through trouble either way, why does it matter who I serve? because to suffer for Christ is gain. Suffering for disobedience is an unnecessary inconvenience that can ultimately lead to death. When we suffer for Christ we may have setbacks but you can be sure we will get back!
- God will keep us in perfect me when our minds are stayed on Jesus. The difference maker for believers is that when we are going through trouble God gives us peace about it knowing that it is working for our good.
- We are going to go through trouble but make sure it’s the right kind of trouble. James 1:2-4 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
- Take heart for Jesus has already defeated what is trying to come up against you. We have the victory in Jesus! I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!
Thank you that trouble doesn’t always last. Today I will make sure that I am in alignment with your Holy will and any trouble that comes my way is just fuel to get me to my destination. All things are working for my good.
In Jesus Name,
