John 18:37 Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”
I saw a news headline on CNN, “the truth behind Santa Claus,” as they tried to explain the origin of the idea of Santa. How profound is that title? The Truth behind Santa: Santa has eclipsed the Truth behind Christmas. The generosity of Christmas came from God not man. The greatest gift was Jesus Christ who was born to be King of King and Lord of Lord’s. He died that we might live. That’s the truth.
When Jesus was facing death Pontus Pilate asked him, “so you are a King?!” Jesus said, “You are right for that is why I have come into the world.” Jesus came into the world to rule over iron behalf of God. He came to bring a new world order that centered on peace and love. Here’s the problem though…
- Only those who are grounded in truth can hear his voice. Jesus is truth. It is only by listening to his teaching and living them out do we come to know the truth.
Pilate asked Jesus a good question. “What is Truth?” Truth is not whatever fact we learn through the writings of someone that strikes an interest in something we have already preformed, formulated in our subconscious. Truth is revealed and connects with our spirit. Jesus told his disciples, “You did not choose me; I chose you.” Jesus reveals himself to people who are on the side of truth.
Some people will never see the truth because they loved darkness rather than light. It is only through surrendering to the righteousness of God that we are set free.
You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free! Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life!” No man can see God unless he comes through Jesus. That is the truth!
Please continue to show us the truth. Behind all of this Commercialism of Christmas reveal Christ to us in a fresh new way. Don’t let us get caught up in the lies of men but turn our hearts back to the truth of your word that became flesh. Jesus is still the truth.
In the name of all things true,
