If you wait until the wind and the weather are just right, you will never plant anything and never harvest anything. (Ecclesiastes 11:4 GNT)
Sometimes we sit back and wait for the conditions to be right before we make any effort to accomplish anything. When you are trying to accomplish something great you have to go out in adverse conditions to get it done. That’s why Jesus told us to be ready in season and out of season. God’s time is not our time. He can use us whenever and wherever. It’s up to us to recognize God’s voice and move when he says move.
1. Don’t use the weather as an excuse to not do what you know you need to do. Whenever it looks like rain I know the parking lot at church is going to be less full. Many Christians base their commitment on the conditions outside. When something is important to you it doesn’t matter what the conditions are you will do what you love.
2. Don’t be a fair weather friend. Everybody loves sunny days but can you stand the rain. You discover who your friends are when you go thru adversity. True friends show up in storms.
3. Don’t wait on the right conditions when you’re doing the right thing. Sometimes God uses the conditions to weed out everybody else who doesn’t need to be there. Take advantage of conditions that keep the less committed in their beds of comfort.
Help me to take advantage of the time I have. Even though it looks cloudy I can still be productive and go out to make the most of this day. I will not give a lot of attention to the weather but instead I will discern whether or not you are calling me to go forward. I will not wait for perfect conditions but I will make the most of this day!
In Jesus Name,
