Hebrews 12:26-27

When he spoke from Mount Sinai his voice shook the earth, but, “Next time,” he says, “I will not only shake the earth but the heavens too.” By this he means that he will sift out everything without solid foundations so that only unshakable things will be left.

Have you ever heard someone say, “I’m about to shake things up?” What it usually means is that a person changes how things are done and that change cause people to be shook up. Many will step up. Some will step down and some will step away. The ultimate shake up happened this summer when King James decided to come back hi pome to Cleveland. It sent players everywhere as the power was redistributed through the basketball kingdom.

When the King comes back everything gets shaken up. Our King Jesus is soon to come but in the meantime God has to shake things up to see who’s real and who’s not. He has to shake things up to see who’s solid and who’s shaky. When God shakes stuff up it’s really to see what needs to go out of our lives. If it’s solid it ain’t going nowhere!

1. God will shake everything from the top to the bottom. Every now and then it’s good to shake things up From top to bottom to see if it’s really solid. Sometimes people get comfortable in their position and fall away when shook. But those who are grounded will outlast the shaking.

2. God will sift out everything not solid. When farmers separated the wheat from the chaff they would throw the wheat in the air allowing the heavy kernels to fall to the ground and everything else would blow away in the wind. Whenever there is a shake up there could be a break up. Don’t hold on to what God sifts out.

3. God wants you to hold onto unshakeable things. If you have any shaky people in your life now is the time to let go and quit chasing what the wind has blown away. If they were supposed to stay you wouldn’t have to keep chasing them.

Dear God,

Thank you for making me unshakeable. I’m grounded in Jesus and anchored by your word. I ain’t going nowhere! Show me the people who are to remain with me and sift those out that are shaky. I’m ready to take your Kingdom work higher and I know that requires unshakeable people.

In Jesus Name,
