Whatever you put out in the universe comes back to you. What you sow is what you reap; people of different faiths and even people that don’t believe in God have said it many ways. As a believer I firmly believe that God looks for the good that comes out of our lives.

Cornelius was a centurion that feared God but wasn’t a follower of Christ yet. He was a “good” man that took care of the poor and prayed to God on a regular basis.

God sent an angel to him and said, “Your prayers and acts of service to the poor have come up to God!” That’s exciting stuff!

  1. Your prayers go up. When you seek God for something and ask for it, he will respond. You are not just talking to yourself when you pray. God is listening and he will send you back an answer.
  2. Your kindness to the poor has come up. When we help the poor God is the one who pays us back.
  3. God will send you some help. Even though Cornelius was a gentile God sent Peter to take him good news and to make sure they received the Holy Spirit. God is about to send you a power visit because of what you’ve been sending up.

Continue to do right by God and just wait and see what comes up. Help is on the way!

Dear God,

I thank you for hearing my prayers and seeing the work I do for the least of these. I know my living and my giving has not been in vain. You are an awesome God and I praise you. Thank you for answering my prayers.

In Jesus Name,
