“But they laughed at him. After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!” ). Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished.” Mark 5:40-42 NIV

Sometimes you can have too many people in your house! There’s a fine line between a fellowship and just plain crowded. A fellowship is fun when you’ve invited the right number of people but more importantly the right people.

But when it comes to needing God to work a miracle the fewer people you have in the house the better.

Jairus’ 12-year-old daughter was at home dead. Jesus had gotten there right before she took her last breath. He told the people not to weep because she was just sleep. They laughed at him.

Jesus had the power to reverse death but the wrong people in the house laughed at what was possible because in their religiousness they couldn’t see beyond the present reality. So Jesus put them all out!

Who do you need to put out and who do you need to bring in?

  1. Put out people who are not serious about raising the dead. There some things that you are trying to raise and if people are laughing at your attempts to do so they need to go. Serious matters call for serious people.
  2. People who have a form of religion but no power. People who are just going through the motions need to get out of your space as you are expecting a miracle.
  3. You need to bring in people who are vested in the miracle. Jesus brought in the mother and father of the little girl. If people are not vested in the vision don’t bring them in!
  4. Bring in people who have confidence in your abilities and faith in God. You don’t need people looking at you. You need people who look up to you as the leader.

This miracle requires everybody in the room to be on the same page and activate your faith. If they are not on the same page, it’s time to put them out!

Dear God,

I believe that you are ready to work a miracle in our house! We are closer now than we’ve ever been before. Give me discernment to know who’s laughing at me and who’s praying for me. I know you’re able to raise this deficit, raise our finances, raise our productivity, raise our awareness, and raise the dead! Get all the distractions out of my personal space so that you can do the miraculous!

In Jesus’ Name,
