“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.” Romans 8:38 NLT

One of the hardest scenes to watch in the movie “Color Purple” is when Mister comes out and separates Nettie and Celie. He is angry because Nettie fights back when he tries to rape her. Out of revenge he kicks Nettie out of the house as she and Celie try failingly to cling to one another. But as Nettie is forced away Celie says with tears in her eyes, “Write!” And Nettie says, “Only death can keep me from it!”

God wants you to know this morning that nothing can separate you from his love. Not even death!

We know that through all that Celie had to endure as a girl and a woman God showed up and out in the end. She was reunited with her sister and her children. Every time I see that scene it makes me cry.

God is about to reunite you with your blessings. He’s about to reconcile your relationships. Once you surrender to Jesus Christ he will work all things out for your good, and take comfort in knowing that nothing can separate you from the love of God.

Dear God-

Thank you for not allowing the enemy to discourage me when he tried to separate me from the ones I love the most. Nothing can separate me from your love. No angel, no demon, no trauma or drama can separate me from your love. Thank you for writing me in your love letters in the Holy Scriptures to remind me that you would come back for me. I love you Lord and I can’t wait for our reunion!

In Jesus Name-

Amen
