2 Kings 11:9-10 So the commanders did everything as Jehoiada the priest ordered. The commanders took charge of the men reporting for duty that Sabbath, as well as those who were going off duty. They brought them all to Jehoiada the priest, and he supplied them with the spears and small shields that had once belonged to King David and were stored in the Temple of the Lord.
Whenever there is a threat to the safety of a nation, a city, or an organization there is a call that gospel out for the men to come out and protect it. I remember images of the brave soldiers who gave their lives protecting the “Alamo.” Or the more recent image of the 300 who protected their wives and children in the epic movie where 300 of the finest trained warriors gave their lives. Where are those men?
With our communities plagued by violence, our youth running the streets without guidance, our churches vulnerable to attack there is a need for men to stand up. We’ve done a good job protecting the pastor but we have left the King exposed and the Kingdom vulnerable.
We need more men to step up and help out in the church and the community. We need men
1. Who are commanders–men follow men. Whenever there was any great movement it always took a man who commanded attention. There are men who have leadership abilities that must step up and meet the needs of the community and lead other men.
2. Who have reported for duty. There are some men in church who are just waiting for something to do. They are waiting on a call to duty. Men are biologically engineered to fight. They just need someone to show them where the fight is.
3. Who are on duty and off duty. We need the men who have been active and those who have yet to get involved. Often times we sit back and look at those already serving and think they have it together. We need all the men to step up.
4. Who have been equipped. The men who stepped up were given weapons to guard the king, the palace, and the temple. We need men who can be equipped to put on the full armor of God. 13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.[b] 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.[c] 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6
If you are a man you need to know that you are needed. We are at war! If you know a man and he is not currently serving you need to recruit him and tell him that The Lord has need of him. All men please report to duty at your local church.
Please awaken the men of our community to a sense of urgency. The kingdom suffers violence and the violent take it by force. Raise up men who will be teachers, coaches, security, pastors, counselors. Some of our best equipped, best prepared men refuse to fight. Raise up some fearless men that restore safety and stability to our communities.
In Jesus Name send A Man,
