1 Peter 1:6 “So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.”

So many of us have been going through lately. I see the fatigue on many faces. People look like they just need hugs! It’s the end of the year and some people are just wondering how they made it through. There’s been a lot of grief with shootings, loss of loved ones, financial hardships, just grief! There is good news…weeping may endure for the night but Joy is coming in the morning!

Peter reminds us that we as believers will sometimes have to go through some grief. It’s what Charlie Brown would call “good grief.” When we suffer because of our relationship to Christ, that’s “good grief.” It’s redemptive suffering. Even though it feels bad at the moment something good is going to come out of it! All things work for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose. I’ve been weeping how do I get to my joy?

  1. Don’t give up in the night. You are closer now than you’ve ever been. This is not the time to give up.
  2. Keep hoping and believing. My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
  3. Persevere through your trials to get to the Glory. There’s no Glory without the story of what you made it through. You have to go through to get to!

Dear God,

Don’t let my friend give up now. You will not put more on us than we can bare! Open our eyes and help us to see that Joy is on the way! Joy to the world, the Lord has come! Let receive her King!

In Jesus Name,
