1 Chronicles 22:11 “So now, son, God be with you. God-speed as you build the sanctuary for your God, the job God has given you. And may God also give you discernment and understanding when he puts you in charge of Israel so th

at you will rule in reverent obedience under God’s Revelation. That’s what will make you successful, following the directions and doing the things that God commanded Moses for Israel. Courage! Take charge! Don’t be timid; don’t hold back.

Five years ago we were in the throes of a recession. Our Power Center Community Development Corporation had just gotten 43 acres of land to develop a new Town Center featuring a charter school, performing arts center, and affordable housing with no money! But we had faith in what God had shown us.

Fast forward five years and this weekend we break ground with all the money raised for our first phase. God is amazing! Don’t ever limit God on what is possible. What is impossible with man is possible with God.

David was a poor shepherd boy watching sheep on the backside of nowhere, when God first anointed him king. Fast forward 30 years and you see King David ready to build this monumental sanctuary for God. The only thing is he would not be able to build it. It would be up to his son Solomon.

We stand on the shoulders of our parents sacrifices to build what they couldn’t finish. They laid the foundation for us to build. For me it was the vision to build Eden Square for the revitalization of Hickory Hill. For you God has given you something to build that is bigger than you. It’s time for you to build!

This is what you need to follow through on what God has put in your spirit:

1.  Discernment and understanding. When God gives you a great work you have to have the ability to sort through what is significant and what is inconsequential. Everything doesn’t deserve your attention. People will try to bring you stuff to distract you from your vision. You have to recognize when something is from God and when something is from the devil. Recognize the real from the fake and keep it moving!

2.  Following God’s commandments and his directions. This will make you successful. When your ways are pleasing to God he will fight your battles and give you the desires of your heart. God has resources he wants to release but he will not release them to people he cannot trust. Whoever can be trusted with little can be trusted with much.

3.  Don’t be timid and don’t hold back! Solomon was young when it was time to build. It was his first major project but God told him don’t be timid and not hold back. In other word’s God told him, “Go big or go home!” Our God is a big God. We can’t be big if little has us. If it’s God’s will it’s his bill! This is the time for you to build. Ecclesiastes 11:4 If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done.

Dear God,

Thank you for giving me a monumental vision to rebuild my community. Thank you for surrounding me with an awesome team to raise awareness, to raise money, and to raise these buildings. You are amazing! You took us from nothing to something! Little becomes much when we place it in the Master’s hand. Help us to keep building your people and your kingdom. Thank you for trusting me to build your vision.

In Jesus Name,
