Psalm 55:22 Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you;he will never let the righteous be shaken.

It’s Monday and there are a lot of things that lay ahead of you claiming your attention. There are deadlines, projects, bills, and assignments. These things can cause you to be anxious if you let them but you have another option. You can choose that which is good.

We can be like Mary and choose that which is good. She sat at Jesus’ feet to learn from him rather than be like her worrisome sister Martha who was distracted by many things. We have another option when we are faced with many things.

1.  Cast your cares upon the Lord. Oh what needless pains we bear when fail to take our burdens to the Lord and leave them there. Cast your cares upon the Lord for he cares for you. Jesus can only handle what you give him. The word cast means to throw. There is some weight that you need to throw off of you this morning. You can’t handle this by yourself. Give it to Jesus!

2.  He will sustain you. You are looking to the end of the month trying to figure out how you’re going to make it. Jesus is wondering why you haven’t given it to him. When you give it to him, he will sustain you. He will keep you through what looked like not enough. He will give you just enough until you make it to more than enough!

3.  He will never let the righteous be shaken. Mobb Deep had a song called, “Shook Ones,” where they said, “ain’t no such things as halfway crooks! Scared to death, scared to look, cause they shook.” What they were saying was either you’re all in or you ain’t! There’s no such thing as half way Christians. When you are sold out to Jesus, you can’t be shook! When you have faith life can’t shake you like it shakes everybody else. You are like a tree firmly planted by the rivers of water yielding its fruit in due season. Whatever you do it will prosper. When God shakes you the only thing that falls off are dead branches. God will sustain you.

Dear God,

I ain’t going to worry about any of these distractions. When I do what you tell me to do I just believe that your grace will see me through. God don’t just get me through the month but get me through this year. Make every plan succeed and supply all my needs according to your riches in Glory. I love you and I thank you!

In Jesus Name,

Amen
