Let your character [your moral essence, your inner nature] be free from the love of money [shun greed—be financially ethical], being content with what you have; for He has said, “ I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake  or  let you down  or  relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!” So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently say, “ The Lord is my Helper [in time of need], I will not be afraid. What will man do to me ?” Hebrews 13:5-6

It is good to know in times of uncertainty that God will never let go of us. Our Heavenly Father has a tight grip on us and he won’t let go.  When we pray we have to realize that God has us and he will not abandon us. The writer of Hebrews assures us that God will never leave us or forsake us.

  1. We have to remain financially ethical and make sure we don’t become money hungry.  The opposite of being money hungry is contentment. It’s learning how to be satisfied with what we have knowing that our loving Heavenly Father is going to give us what we need.
  2. God will never, under any circumstances, give up on us or leave us without support. God is no way near being a dead beat dad. He will not leave us with measly child support. He will come through when we need him the most.
  3. God will not let us down or relax his hold on us. Sometimes it feels like our lives are hanging in the balance and the only person keeping us from falling to our death is God. God’s promise to us is that he will not relax his grip. Some people might slip but God holds his grip. He will not let go of you!

Dear God,

Thank you for not letting go of me. I don’t have to worry about my finances. I don’t have to do anything unethical to pay my bills. You will come through. Thank you for being there and never giving up on me. Father, I will wait on you because I know that you will come through every time!

In Jesus’ Name,
