I hate to hear people say, “That’s impossible to do.” That word is not in my vocabulary. I like what Jay Z said, “Difficult takes a day and impossible just a little longer.” What he meant was that his determination to get something done would not allow him to entertain impossible.

As Christians we should have faith bigger than Jay Z as we know that all things are possible through Christ Jesus.

There is nothing you cannot accomplish with a little faith. Jesus said, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed you can look at a “mountain” and say, “move!” And the mountain will throw itself into the sea. Do you have any mountains that need to be moved?

The rich young ruler that came to Jesus wanted to know what he had to do to inherit eternal life. Jesus told him to keep the commandments. The young man bragged about how he had kept them all since his youth. Jesus pointed out that he still had one he had broken. Jesus told him to go liquidate all his assets and give the money to the poor. The young man left sad because money was his god.

The disciples saw this and were confused. They thought being wealthy was equivalent to having favor with God. “If a rich man who is morally upright can’t get into heaven then who can?”

Jesus told them, “What is impossible with man is possible with God!”

  1. Our human effort alone can’t get us past impossible. It is by grace that we have been saved. We can’t earn our way into heaven but we do have to live our lives in accordance to God’s word. When our ways are pleasing to God, he will give us the desires of our hearts.
  2. We have to surrender our will to God’s will. Even Jesus reached a point where what he had to endure seemed too painful. When he thought about suffering on the cross he prayed for God to take it away but then he followed that prayer with; “nevertheless not my will but your will be done!”
  3. There is no failure in God. Even the setbacks we experience are material for God’s purpose. All things are working for your good. He’s intentional! Never failing.
  4. Impossible just takes a little longer. We must have patience to wait on God’s promises even as we work towards them.

Dear God,

Thank you that what other people said would be impossible is finally manifesting in my life. I am amazed at the miracle you have performed in my life. You are an awesome God. You never cease to amaze me. All I have needed your hand has provided. Today I will continue to press my way toward my goal knowing that nothing is impossible with you. I choose to live out of my imagination and not out of my memory. Because you are able to do exceedingly, abundantly, more than we can think, IMAGINE, or conceive!

In Jesus Name,
