“You know that your father and his men are warriors,” he continued, “and they are as desperate as a wild bear robbed of her cubs. Your father is a seasoned fighter. He won’t spend the night with his troops.”

2 Samuel 17:8 (CEB)

The most dangerous man in the world is the one that has nothing to lose. -Malcolm X

It’s game 5 tonight with the Cavaliers facing elimination from the Warriors. Can they do the impossible twice? Come back from a 3 to 1 deficit?

Anything can happen when you are desperate enough. The question is who wants it more.

David was facing elimination. His son, Absalom wanted to kill him and take over the number one spot. He had a game plan from one of his prophetic coaches to attack his father while he was tired and vulnerable. But Absalom being a rookie in war messed around and listened to advice from one of David’s loyal prophets who stayed behind to frustrate the advice of the traitor Ahitophel.

He told him, “You know your father is a desperate warrior…you need to wait.” his advice was deceptive but true. What he was really trying to do was give David and his army more time. The last thing you want to do is give a warrior time to rest and strategize!

This is what needs to happen if you find yourself facing elimination.

  1. You have to have a sense of desperation. You can’t be passive. When it appears that you are facing elimination that is the time that you put it all on the floor. Whether it’s your marriage, your business, or your ministry; if you are about to lose that which is vital you have to operate with a sense of urgency. Are you desperate enough to fight for it?
  2. You have to have some strategy. David followed the advice from one of his prophets that had inside information. They decided to fight in the wilderness where David had the most experience. More people died from the wilderness than they did the sword. David played his game not his opponents. As desperate warriors facing elimination we have to have a game plan that the enemy is not expecting. It’s not enough to be desperate. You have to have a strategy!
  3. You have to fight like a mother bear robbed of her cubs. In other words, you have to fight with passion and purpose. Nothing and no one can stop you until you recover what you lost! If you have passion and purpose it goes along way. Some people are emotionally defeated before they take the court. You have to believe that you can win!

You might be in a position where your back is against the wall and it looks as if it’s over, but you got another game and another chance to get out there and win! Go, fight, win!!!

Dear God,

Thank you for giving me time to rest so that I have a fighting chance. Thank you for prophetic friends who give me inside information. Grant me a divine strategy to not only win but to protect my family and get back to Kingdom living. It doesn’t matter what it looks like because you are with me. I am more than a conqueror! I’m ready to rumble and get back that number one spot!

In Jesus’ Name,
